-Introduction-
A proposal for the connected car-commerce service design
Considering the growth of the E-Commerce market, the Car-commerce industry is a promising field of area. This project introduces the all-in-one car-commerce service design based on the car lincense plate.
The automobile number plate is unique and poses the personal identity of the owner of the car. Like people have their own credit cards, each car lincense plate works as a personal payment method with an embedded microchip to be worked for wireless payment.
Based on the quantitative and qualitative interview and user researches, this project introduces the whole process of a car-commerce system.

Understanding the context
Along with the increasing number of vehicle registrations and license plate-related crimes, it is expected that all Korean license plates will be used by the beginning of 2020, requiring new license plates with different design and function.

Qualitative and Quantitative research methods
In order to figure out that current user context, both quantitative and qualitative research methods such as questionnaires and interviews are utilized.
The questionnaire, a quantitative research method, was used to grasp the general public's thoughts and opinions.
On the other hand, the interview, which is a qualitative method, was conducted as a focus group interview for the expert group of police officers, drivers, and related industry workers.

Identify the service goal
Gaining insight through Affinity diagram, persona and customer journey map
The data analysis process was done with the collected questionnaires and interview results. Through the iterative coding process, 16 codes were extracted and finally derived the main theme of the research: connected car-commerce system with the car license plate and mobile application.

The service tilted as 'Clever: connected car commerce service system'. The title is the combination of two words car and clever. It represents the clever car-commerce system.

The service system consists three parts. Microchip inside the car license plate, car dashboard and a smart phone application. License plate on a car works like a physical plastic credit card. It commuicates with chip reader outside to process the payment. Information screen(dashboard) inside the car displays the status how the car-commercese processes are working.
Mobile application helps to manage the detaila about the service system. Through the app, user can process the authorization and register the account and payment details. It also provide detailed payment history.
